Texas native Paris Taylor released her second single “Story of a Killer” last week. With vocals and a sound being compared to Amy Lee of Evanescence, Paris delivers multiple textures and layers both vocally and lyrically to her songs. With “Story of a Killer“, she wanted to bring to light a hard time in her life, hoping to help others with her story.
“‘Story of a Killer‘ is about the struggles I faced being bullied and getting diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called Hashimoto’s,” Paris says. “It’s about how I felt during that time and how I got through it. I came out as a different and stronger person. I learned everyone has battles of their own and it’s OK to not feel OK.”
“It’s also a song to let others who might feel this way know that they are not alone and it will get better,” Paris continues. “I was lucky to have my mom and sister there for me when I needed someone to talk to. I dealt with my emotions by writing lyrics and poetry in my journal. I hope my music inspires others to find peace in their mental health journey.”
