Sebastien Ryan might be only 12, but he’s already carving out a space for himself in the music world with the release of his debut EP, Vida Mia, and an upcoming interview with Mario Lopez on iHeartRadio. With a sound that blends Latin pop vibes, emotional storytelling, and infectious energy, Sebastien is stepping into the spotlight as an artist with purpose — and passion.
Released on July 21 via NI Music Group, Vida Mia features a mix of upbeat dance tracks and heartfelt messages. Co-written with producers Eric Johnson and Danny Jay, the EP reflects Sebastien’s love of rhythm, family, and living life to the fullest. Songs like “Magic,” “Mama and Me,” and the vibrant lead single “Baila Baila” each carry a little piece of Sebastien’s heart.
“I wanted to create something real—something that represents who I am, where I’ve been, and what I want people to feel when they hear it,” Sebastien shares.
We caught up with Sebastien to get a deeper look into the voice behind the music in this special Q&A:
When did you first realize you loved to sing?
I have been singing since I was 7 years old. I love music because it’s universal and it makes me happy — especially when I hear songs with good beats. Music lets me express my feelings.
What inspired your first song, “Baila Baila”?
I wanted to make people happy and get them dancing! It’s also about the love I have for a girl and how dancing together makes us feel happy and carefree.
What does music mean to you?
Music means feeling the rhythm and letting the beats inspire me to write lyrics. Singing and performing makes me feel happy, relaxed, and in control of my mind and future goals.
Can you tell us about your debut EP, Vida Mia?
My EP came out on July 21, 2025. You can hear songs like Vida Mia, Magic, Mama and Me, and Birthday.
What message do you hope people take from your music?
In Mama and Me, it’s all about family and respecting your parents. I hope my songs make people feel good and remind them they’re not alone.
You also practice karate! How does that play into your confidence?
Karate helps me stay focused. It makes me feel strong and balanced, and like I am able to fight and overcome anything. The discipline and techniques I learn help me in everyday life and teach me to respect myself and others.
Does living in Miami inspire your music?
Yes! Miami is tropical and it’s always hot with nice weather. The sunshine and Miami lifestyle inspire me to sit at my desk and write songs.
Who are your biggest musical inspirations?
Singers who inspire me are Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, and The Weeknd.
What would you say to other kids with special needs who have big dreams?
To never stop dreaming because there are singers with ADHD, stuttering syndrome, and other special needs that have overcome those obstacles and are a success today. With help, love, dedication, support, and passion for your craft, you, too, can live the life of your dreams.
How do you stay motivated when life gets tough?
I try to focus on the positive rather than the negative, and I try to stay balanced and avoid frustration. Just take one day at a time. Music has helped me overcome many obstacles, and it relaxes me and keeps me focused in life.
And finally — what would you like to say to your fans and future fans?
Music is universal. Everyone can connect to it in their own way, and I hope my music makes people feel something special. ⭐
