Grand gestures, late-night confessions, handwritten notes, surprise trips—romance comes in all forms. This time around, Ask the Stars is all about love, and we wanted to know: What’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done? From swoon-worthy moments to sweet, understated acts of love, these stories remind us that romance is alive, well, and still worth believing in.

“I think the most romantic thing I ever did for someone was write a whole album’s worth of love songs specially for and about them. I had it printed on a custom vinyl with our pictures and my own handwritten lyrics. I also made a whole scrapbook with hand-drawn and painted drawings of us in Studio Ghibli style…We broke up not too long afterwards–ha!” 💜 Maisy Kay, Music Artist (@MaisyKay)

“I love arranging flowers. I hate taking care of them afterward, but I love making them. In another life, I’d be a florist. I made this massive bouquet for Valentine’s Day — about two feet wide. I asked ChatGPT how much it would cost in a store, and they marketed my flowers for $350. I made it for $70. I was like, wow, I can mark this up! I also made a book of cards — ten different letters for different moments, like when you’re stressed or when you achieve something. I think that was a sweet thing.” 💜 Natalie Jane, Music Artist (@NatalieJane)

“I leave ‘I love you’ sticky notes hidden all over the house for my boyfriend to find… inside his shoes, in his toiletry bag, tucked into his dresser. No place is safe.” 💜Caryn DixonMusic, Music Artist (@CarynDixonMusic)

“This is embarrassing because I’m not really a romantic person. I’m going to be transparent — I hate Valentine’s Day. It’s cute, I get it, but I’m just not a Valentine’s Day girl. One time, I made my now husband a scrapbook with little notes and photos of us throughout the years when we were dating. That’s probably the best I’ve done.” 💜Bekka Dowland, Music Artist (@BekkaDowland)

“I’ve done some romantic things! I once planned a birthday surprise trip including renting a spectacular Airbnb and a luxury vehicle they’d always dreamed of. I’ve made a drawing of a partner, have gotten meaningful tattoos, and I’ll always leave you a sweet note in your carry-on when you fly.” 💜Samora Smallwood, Music Artist (@SamoraGloria)

“Probably cooking dinner. I love giving gifts, baking something, bringing dessert. I’m very affectionate and sweet. I can’t think of one specific thing, but that’s how I show love.” 💜Nicole Huff, Actor/Music Artist (@NicoleSamanthaHuff)

“I was born and raised in New England, so I’m a lifelong Patriots fan. My husband, however, is a diehard Buffalo Bills fan. Recently, I have been rooting for the Bills in football more than the Patriots. Not because I’ve been converted, but because I want my husband to know the joy of his team winning a Super Bowl. He gets really excited when I wear Buffalo Bills gear (and, with the next Super Bowl coming up, he’s been returning the support by wearing a Patriots t-shirt!” 💜Amanda McCarthy, Music Artist (@AmandaMcMusic)

“I wouldn’t call it romantic, but it was the sweetest thing I had ever done (or my husband says anyway). Many years ago, my husband was swamped with work and time seemed to be passing by so quickly. His Mom was getting older and was unwell at the time. He wanted to go home to see her but knew it wasn’t a good time. I knew he needed to see her. It’s important to also note that he had taken both of our older girls on a Daddy/Daughter trip to Nova Scotia to spend time with his Mom and see the area when they were young. I called his boss at the time, booked him off work, made the arrangements, flights and accommodations, etc. and gave him a ridiculous prank gift box with the details inside. (The prank gift box was a griddle to make bacon on a timer in your bedroom lol). He and our youngest had their Daddy/Daughter trip and loved every minute, even when they got snowed in and slept in the airport for several days. His Mom sadly passed not too long after. To this day he says that was the best gift she ever received.” 💜Sarah Cleveland, Actor (@SarahCleveland)

“The most romantic thing that I’ve ever done for someone (so far!) was writing and composing a song for them. I know that doesn’t seem so original as I assume quite a few singer-songwriter musicians write songs for those they ‘fall in love with’. I remember in high school, my girlfriend broke up with me out of nowhere, and I went straight home after school and, in my shock and heartbroken sorrow, I wrote the chorus of my first released song, “Out of the Blue”, in my bedroom. I knew I had composed something special with just my acoustic guitar and a whole lot of lyrical emotion, and I ended up pouring my soul out into that song, which ended up on the radio in Canada! I guess my songwriting often taps into my hopeless-romantic side. I guess it also goes to show that romantic actions can also open other doors too!” 💜Max Parker, Actor/Singer (@MaxParkerOfficial)

“The most romantic thing I’ve ever done was plan a birthday surprise party where we watched their favorite movie, Ratatouille, and I cooked all of the food from the movie! I served it to my partner and their friends as the food from the movie appeared on screen: the cheese and strawberry, the soup, the ratatouille. I’m not that good of a cook or host, but it was by far the most special, thoughtful thing I’ve given someone.” 💜Leanna Firestone, Music Artist (@leannafirestone)
