What are the StarShine Readers Choice Awards?
The StarShine Readers’ Choice Awards (RCAs) celebrate the music, film, television, and pop culture moments that mattered most — as voted by the fans. Unlike industry-driven awards, the Readers’ Choice Awards are rooted in audience connection. Nominees are selected based on cultural impact, StarShine coverage, and community engagement, while winners are determined by reader votes and transparent data-driven categories. The 2026 Awards mark the first Readers’ Choice Awards since 2011, representing both a return to tradition and a celebration of a new generation of artists and storytellers.
Award categories include:
• Fan-voted favorites across music, film, and television
• Editorially curated honors
• Data-driven recognitions
• Legacy recognition honoring enduring influence

How does voting work?
Voting is open to all readers for a limited time (January 27 – February 15, 2026). Each person may vote once per category using a valid email address.
Where can I vote?
When polls open, there will be a voting ballot posted on StarShineMag.net/RCA. We will also have a link on our home page: StarShineMag.net / StarShineMag.com as well as on our social media. Follow us at @StarShineMag.
Can I vote every day?
No. To keep voting fair for all nominees, voting is limited to one submission per person.
Why do I need to enter my email address?
Email verification helps us ensure accurate results and prevents duplicate voting. Your email will not be shared or used for spam.
What if someone tries to vote multiple times?
Duplicate or suspicious entries may be removed during the verification process to maintain the integrity of the awards.
Are winners chosen only by votes?
Most categories are fan-voted. Some special honors, including data-driven and legacy awards, are determined editorially and will not be included on the voting ballot, but will be announced with the winners in March.
When and how will winners be announced?
Winners will be revealed during the virtual StarShine Readers’ Choice Awards show event in March, with full coverage following on StarShineMag.com and in the Spring 2026 issue of StarShine Magazine.
