Rom-com lovers rejoice – Netflix’s The Wrong Paris is available now! The film stars Miranda Cosgrove as Dawn, a small-town Texas girl down on her luck whose big dream hangs in the balance. She’s been accepted into the art school of her dreams in Paris, but without financial aid – and with only a not-quite-full glass jar of tips from her waitressing job – she needs money fast.

Her reality-TV-obsessed sister (played by Emilija Baranac) suggests she audition for a Bachelor-like dating show called The Honeypot, where women vie for a rich hottie’s heart and earn cash prizes just for making it onto the show. Conveniently, auditions are happening in Texas, and filming is set for Paris. What are the odds?
Dawn decides to try out, but only on one condition: she plans to sabotage her chances of making it past the first round. That way, she can pocket the cash, snag a free trip to France, and ditch the reality show for art school.
But to everyone’s shock, The Honeypot isn’t being filmed in Paris, France – it’s in Paris, Texas, one of the producers’ tricks to stir up drama. Disappointed but still grateful for the money, Dawn gets her next surprise when she meets the “honeypot” himself: Trey (Pierson Fodé), a blond, muscular, rugged-yet-pretty cowboy.

As fate would have it, Dawn and Trey already crossed paths briefly at a bar and felt an instant spark. Despite Dawn’s pleas to be eliminated, Trey keeps her in the competition, much to the annoyance of her biggest rival, influencer Lexi (Madison Pettis).
If you love a predictable – and sometimes cringey – rom-com, The Wrong Paris is the right pick for your weekend. The clichés are plentiful, but so is the eye candy (seriously, how are Pierson’s abs real?!), not to mention the joy of watching two former child stars wrestle each other into a mud pit.
The film was directed by Janeen Damian, written by Nicole Henrich, and also stars Yvonne Orli, Christin Park, Ava Bianchi, Torrence Coombs, and Frances Fisher. The Wrong Paris is available for streaming on Netflix beginning September 12th.
