Danish pop/house DJ, Muri released her debut single, “Fallin'” earlier this month. Having a background in dance followed by being a DJ, Muri’s move to being a pop artist feels natural and unforced. With her awesome style and musical talent, she will definitely be one to watch!
Get to know a bit more about Muri in our Q+A with the artist and listen to “Fallin'” below.
Hi Muri! Congratulations on “Fallin”. What was the inspiration behind the song?
The inspiration to “Fallin’” came from the universe that I go into when I close my eyes. I tried to put sound to that universe – some sort of uplifting somberness.
Tell us a little about the recording and production experience.
I’m very fortunate to be surrounded by very talented co-producers and songwriters who helped bring my vision to life. I feel that the vibe of “distancing from reality” was in the room when the song was done.
What’s something you’ve learned about yourself during this crazy year?
I’ve learned that I can be very patient and I’ve learned the importance of being in sync with my inner self.
A lot of people have developed new hobbies or began cooking more during quarantine. What’s something you picked up on during this time?
Sewing is my newest hobby. I wanted to get better at it because I want to be able to create and design my own clothing to really express who Muri is. For example, I’m making my own gloves that I love to wear.
Your press release teased at more music to come … What can we expect over the next few months?
Yes, I’m looking very much forward to the next few months where new music will be released with more uplifting tunes and more exiting vocalists.
Now that tours and shows are starting to be scheduled again, do you have any plans to do live shows?
I’ve been very lucky to play a few gigs of a very small size during the COVID period. Right now, I’m just focusing on the next couple of singles. But I get excited just thinking about visiting all the night clubs as soon as possible.
What would your stage show be like?
It will definitely be a show that is thought through from A – Z with a mystical yet feminine vibe.
What has been the coolest event/party you DJ’ed for?
That must have been at a private event I did in Royal Arena, which is one of the biggest stages in Denmark.
What’s something not many people know about you?
I’m actually a very goofy kind of person. Nobody expects it, but I just like to have fun.
If you could dedicate one song to your fans and future fans around the world, what would it be?
“Around The World” by Daft Punk is one of my all-time favorites and also a song that I feel that everybody can move to.
