Can We Talk? releases on October 14th! StarShine got an advanced listen of the album and has the details!
Multi-platinum pop artist and producer elijah woods doesn’t just sound familiar because he added an “s” to the end of the Frodo actor’s name as his stage moniker. With over one billion streams across five EPs and five million followers, elijah has carved out a major presence in the indie-pop scene over the past five years. After selling out his first Canadian headline tour in 2023, he went international—packing venues across Asia, opening for Niall Horan in Jakarta, and performing at Seoul Jazz Festival and Japan’s Summer Sonic Festival.
With his bubbly beats, bold fashion sense, and superstar charisma, we predict elijah woods will soon dominate your playlists and social feeds—if he hasn’t already. Make sure you pre-save elijah’s debut album, Can We Talk?, and listen to the first four singles instantly: “Could You Love Me?”, “Ghost on the Radio”, and the feel-good anthem, “Slicked Back Hair”, and the most recently released, “I Miss You”.

The opening track, “So Good”sets the tone for the entire album, promising a head-bopping, feet-tapping good time. Next come the first two singles: “Could You Love Me?”, a perfect track to tell off the narcissist in your life, and the insanely catchy “Ghost on the Radio”. “Exercise Your Demons” slows the pace a bit, highlighting thoughtful instrumentation and cleverly sharp lyrics. “Cutting the Grass” follows with a reflective, acoustic vibe and soft vocals. Standout lyrics include:
“If I never left home, would she be pregnant and we’d be beautifully stagnant? Instead, I search for deeper meaning—can I monetize that feeling while I work late just to be tired?”
At the center of the album is the title track, “Can We Talk?” It picks the tempo back up, bringing back the bubbly hooks and clever wordplay elijah is known for. “Stay Home” is a layered musical dream—so many sounds happening at once, yet it all melts together into a smooth, laid-back anthem for the introvert in all of us. Up next is the aforementioned “Slicked Back Hair”, the perfect soundtrack for when you’re feeling yourself on a drive with the windows rolled down.
“This song is about meeting someone who changes everything—the kind of person who turns you from a caterpillar into a butterfly,” says elijah.

“I Miss You” is an instant favorite. Like many of elijah’s songs, it feels like it could be performed by a boy band with five-part harmonies, yet he manages to layer his own vocals and instrumentation to create that same fullness on his own. “Dynamite” uses vivid imagery—“burning,” “light it up,” and “kerosene”—to capture a relationship destined to explode. Fittingly, the guitar-heavy “That’s All Folks” closes out the album with the bittersweet line: “Goodbye, my friend / is this the end?”
Usually, with any album, there are one or two tracks that don’t quite pass the vibe check. But elijah woods makes it nearly impossible to skip a song. I dare you not to fall in love with this album!
