Hi Paxton! Thanks for chatting with StarShine Magazine. I hope you are safe and hanging in there during this time.
Thanks for having me!
You get to do a lot of crazy stunts for Coop & Cami Ask The World. What’s the craziest thing you’ve done for season 2?
This season I had a really good time doing a stunt where I was suspended from the ceiling dressed in a spider costume and eating cereal. At first it was scripted that I was just going to casually hang there while I said my lines, but after a few takes they decided to pull me up really fast towards the ceiling. It was such a rush and super fun!
What can fans of the show expect from the rest of this season?
Fans get a chance to watch the characters grow. Ollie matures a bit and takes on some new responsibilities. He also starts to pull away and be his own person. I’m excited for fans to see it!
Do you ever have a hard time keeping it together on camera during a really funny scene?
Sometimes it’s hard to keep a straight face! Rebecca Metz, who plays Jenna, taught me a cool trick that really works. When you feel like you are going to laugh, just curl your toes tight so you are focused on something other than laughing.
Has there been anyone you’ve met that made you starstruck?
I’m starstruck by just about every celebrity I meet! But I think the one that made my heat pump the most was Tim Burton. I met him at the premiere of Dumbo pre-party. He was just walking around by himself and I walked right up to him and introduced myself. I figured I might never get the chance again, so I just went for it! He was so nice and listened to me tell him how I’m a huge fan and took a photo with me. Just a few minutes later, I ran into Danny Elfman and talked to him too. It was seriously the raddest night ever!

You’re pretty much an old soul with your love of classic cars, ’80s music, and your fashion sense. Are all of those things something your parents introduced you to or did you discover it on your own?
Cars are definitely something I grew up around. My parents owned hot rods and we went to car shows just about every weekend.
How I dress is a team effort with my mom and me. We love to shop together and really work at thinking outside the box. When I have an event to go to, we usually come up with a look together and spend hours looking for pieces to make it happen. It almost always ends up as some sort of custom piece.
As for my taste in music, I think it was just me listening to the 80’s station and really liking what I heard.
What’s one thing you never travel without?
I never travel without hand sanitizer, even when we are not in a pandemic.

Since we’re all stuck in quarantine, what have you been doing to occupy your time and keep in touch with friends and family?
I’ve been pretty busy in quarantine. My family and I adopted a puppy, so she keeps me active! I also learned how to play chess, which is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. Keeping in touch with friends and family through FaceTime and text is something I’ve been doing every few days too.
Where is the first place you’ll go once quarantine is over?
My hairstylist! I’m seriously growing a mop on my head.
Are there any upcoming projects you want to talk about?
Right now, because of the pandemic, I’m just on hold like the rest of the industry is.
What would you like to say to all of your fans out there?
Be yourself and stay rad!
