Get ready for some bubblegum-girl energy! Meet Camryn Levert—an R&B/Pop artist whose new album, Disco Doll Daydream, is out now. Camryn is the granddaughter of Eddie Levert of The O’Jays and the daughter of R&B legend Gerald Levert, but don’t expect her music to sound like theirs. Full of talent and covered in pink sugar, Disco Doll Daydream brings 1970s disco vibes, dreamy pop, and modern feminine confidence together in one glittery package. It’s the perfect album to play when you’re feeling yourself or need an instant mood lift. Standout tracks include the fun lead single “Stay the Night”, the ‘90s-tinged “All In”, and the sultry “Touch Me Tease Me”. Find out what Camryn has to say about her new album, career triumphs, and more in our Q&A!

You come from an incredible musical lineage. What does carrying the Levert name mean to you personally?
It means love, legacy, and a reminder to stay grounded. My family paved such a beautiful path, but they also taught me to walk it with my own footsteps. Carrying the Levert name feels like carrying a little light with me everywhere I go.
How would you describe your musical style for those hearing you for the first time?
Dreamy pop with a lot of cheer and heart. It’s sparkly, emotional, upbeat, and always rooted in honesty. If glitter could sing, it would sound like my music.
Your new album, Disco Doll Daydream came out this fall. What was the vibe for this album and what stories did you want to tell with it?
The vibe was confidence, dreamy, and healing. I wanted to tell stories of loving boldly, feeling everything, finding myself again, and letting my inner disco doll dance through the chaos. It’s a daydream you can live inside.

What has been the most rewarding moment of your career so far?
Any time someone tells me my music made them feel seen. Streams and stages are incredible, but those quiet little messages… those are the moments that always stay with me.
What’s something about you that might surprise your fans?
I’m low-key a grandma at heart. Give me a blanket, some tea, and a puzzle or coloring book, and I’m the happiest girl alive.
What’s a challenge you’ve faced as an artist, and how did you overcome it?
Learning to trust myself. As artists we’re surrounded by opinions, but the magic happens when you choose your own voice first. Therapy, writing, and letting myself be proud of my work helped me overcome that and still are outlets I use daily.
Anything else we should look out for? (Concert dates, new releases, TV appearances, anything you want to plug!)
Yes! I have new visuals on the way, some really special shows on the horizon, and a couple surprises I can’t talk about yet but trust me, they’re so so good. Stay tuned!
Outside of music and school, what do you spend your free time doing?
I’m either hanging out with my family, loving on my dog, catching a new movie, or romanticizing my life at home like it’s a movie.
If your music were a flavor, what would it taste like?
Strawberry vanilla with a little champagne fizz—sweet, dreamy, and a dash of celebratory.
As a tradition in StarShine Magazine, we like to ask: what message do you have for your fans and future fans out there?
Thank you for letting my world meet yours. I hope my songs make you feel held, hyped, understood, and never alone. We’re growing together, and that’s the most beautiful part.
Favorite Holiday Memory: “Every year my whole family gets together and it feels like such a blessing. We spoil each other, laugh nonstop, and it turns into a full love fest. It’s my favorite tradition.” – Camryn Levert
