Ant Thomaz

There’s nothing purer than a parent’s love for their child—and that’s exactly what you feel when listening to “Believe,” the uplifting new single by Glasgow-based singer-songwriter Ant Thomaz. The track radiates hope, encouraging listeners to rise above doubt and discover their true potential. It’s the kind of song that brings a smile to your face from start to finish—and knowing it was inspired by Ant’s daughter, Gaia, makes it even more heartwarming.

“Believe” feels like a daily affirmation set to music—one you’ll want to start your mornings with.

“Originally, it was me and my daughter writing a song together, mainly the verses, just us being silly. It’s mainly for her,” Ant shared in a recent interview with StarShine. “You know, having a busy schedule and being a father and the responsibilities and things like that, and you have to have that kind of self-belief in yourself to get things done and find the time to give to your family. You know, the balance in life.”

When asked how fatherhood influences his music, Ant believes it’s made it better. “You don’t waste as much time as you used to before you were a parent.”

Born in Southern Louisiana’s Bayou region, Ant Thomaz brings a unique and diverse musical style that blends folk, soul, pop, zydeco, and rock. His journey began on the streets of Glasgow as a busker. He started writing songs at age twelve and developed a distinct sound rooted in personal storytelling. His debut EP, 520, was released in 2023, with lead single “Magpies” gaining airplay across BBC platforms.

Ant says he hopes his music inspires self-discovery in listeners. “It’s so easy to give up. That’s kind of why I included my daughter in this song a lot. We’re kind of teaching each other different ways of going about it. I mean, she’s just 9, getting ready to turn 10, but very intelligent that we can have a conversation about different things and songwriting. I want my music to be inspirational. I know it sounds like a cliché thing, but if you don’t really believe in yourself, then you can’t really get anything done.”

Ant is currently touring across the UK and Europe, with plans to bring his music to the U.S. soon. He’s also set to release a full-length album in winter 2026. In the meantime, you can stream “Believe” and his debut EP 520 on all major platforms.
