2019 has been a year full of new releases for Alessia Cara and we’re not complaining! Earlier this year, Alessia released her EP, This Summer, collaborated with Juanes on “Querer Mejor”, and Bastille on “Another Place”.
Today, Alessia delivers the perfect gift to her fans: a new holiday song called “Make It To Christmas”. The song is about a strained relationship during the holidays and pleading not to break up before Christmas. “Hold on a little longer. Don’t have me spending it alone. This time of year is precious. Break my heart on boxing day,” Alessia begs during the song’s bridge.
Most music artists have success with renditions of holiday classics and few have original Christmas hits, but every once in a while a new one comes along and becomes a hit. It happened with Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas”, and while Alessia’s song is a little sadder, it’s catchy enough and features her beautifully pure voice.
Make sure you add “Make It To Christmas” to your holiday playlists this year! We’re already adding it to ours. Speaking of our playlist, check out our 2019 Holiday Playlist below — kicking it off is Alessia Cara! We’ll be adding to it throughout the season as new holiday music is released.
